P6bw WC 20.12.21
It has been a busy few weeks and P6bw have been working hard
In Numeracy we have been looking at fractions, decimals and percentages and seeing how these are used in everyday life. In Maths we have been looking at co-ordinates and developing our understanding of this by undertaking a range of activities.
In Literacy, we have been writing different types of poetry, some about our topic, WW2, and some with Winter/ Christmas theme. We looked at the different styles of poetry including rhyming and non-rhyming, Alphabet poems, Acrostic poems and Haiku. We are very proud of the poems we created.
In Health and Wellbeing we have been participating in lessons about the Earthshot Prize and for PE we have been learning the dance moves to some popular party songs as well as Parkour. This has been a lot of fun and the moves came in handy for our Christmas Party!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our WW2 topic this term and have been learning about how the war started, rationing, propaganda, evacuation and anderson shelters.
We have also been participating in lots of fun Christmas activities including the whole school Christmas Parade, Sing-a-long, Danceathon as well as our Christmas Party. We were also set a Christmas themed STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) task to undertake whereby we had to help the reindeer fly using only balloon power. We needed to think really hard and follow the design process to create, test and amend our designs as necessary to help the reindeer fly.
We are now ready to enjoy our Christmas break!
